2011/12 Post season?

February 13, 2012 8:14 pm

Is it too late for the Ducks to seriously consider the playoffs for the 5th time in 6 years by making a run, albeit belatedly, for the Western conference top 8 eight finishes again, with a stron 12-3-3 record since January 2nd.

Personally I feel its too little too late but won't give up hope as teams above, such as Minnesota are faltering, we amy seize the initiative and snatch the last playoff place.

Although Boudreau started off weakly, like Carlyle finished his reign, the players are turning it round steadily and effectively.

How do people feel about international link ups?

September 5, 2011 1:35 am

Looking at the popularity of baseball and US sports generally in the world would it not make sense to set alliances up with European hockey teams and form academies in countries such as Sweden, Germany and even the UK to a degree. Personally linking up with professional hockey and other sports teams for example football (soccer to the US readers), cricket or even rugby teams. It could generate such interest in reaching new audiences and create a revenue stream of players and increase the popularity the hold in these countries and develop not only their leagues but create leagues in countries where it is not popuilar or create teams in such countries to join existing countries leagues e.g. a French team created to join the GErman or UK hockey leagues.

I would like to know other people's thoughts on this.

PLAYOFF RUN 2011

March 29, 2011 9:55 am

The Ducks have battled their way to playoff contention and with 6 hard games left on the schedule have a excellent chance to grab a high seed. I beleive with the way they have been playing they should win at least 4 of those games which will land them probably fifth in the conference. GO DUCKS !!!!!!!!

J.S Giguere TRADED!

January 31, 2010 1:08 pm
Edited on: January 31, 2010 1:30 pm

Giggy is gone to Toronto and incoming is Vesa Toskala and Jason Blake, from what I read.   On a side note Dion Phaneuf, Keith Aulie and Fredrick Sjorstrom are in Toronto too and in Calgary is Nicklas Hagman, Ian White, Matt Stajan, and Jamal Meyers.   Ha I laugh at Burke trying to think he team is still a playoff contender.  Toskala will be a good backup till the end of the season.  Jason Blake will be a good veteran LW on the 3rd line (maybe 2nd depending on his play)  Im quite sad to see giggy go but it had to be done.  I wish he would of went somewhere other than Toronto, as I can't stand the leafs. More than any other sports team in any type of league, but they took the contract.  Hopefully we can get a good 2nd line D-Man with the free'd up cap space.
